My friends came to visit me one summer when I was in Austin working as an intern. We checked out many local water holes, including Barton Springs. At the springs, my now-DH was diving down and picking up rocks. He found what he thought were planaria. My friends and I were in the water quite a ways away and saw DH holding out rocks to people, all of whom exited the swimming hole in a great rush as soon as they saw the bottom of DH's rocks. A few years later, my friend Cathy remembered this eventful visit by creating and presenting us with this set of planaria plates and bowls. Pictured are two lovely round, light brown bowls. The rims are blue. Inside the left-hand rim of each plate stretches a blue planaria with two popping-round eyes staring up at us. Cathy died today, after a long illness.
