View of Bath Abbey from the front, top level of a double-decker bus. The day is bright with afternoon sun, so there are reflections inside the window partially obscuring the view. The crossed legs and left arm of a passenger across the aisle are visible (wearing jeans and a checkered sport coat, respectively). In the lap of the person sits a small Yorkshire terrier, taking in the view.

Very large tree, does not yet have spring leaves, in a round-ish plaza area. There are small, three story buildings on all sides across from the viewer's standpoint. They are all a light buttery yellow in colour. This is perhaps enhanced by the slanting afternoon sun, which is coming ftom the upper right. The lower part of the tree trunk, many of the buildings, and most of the plaza are in the shade. The sky is very blue and clear.

Plane tree at Bath's Abbey Green. Placed there as a sapling in 1793.

(For Dragon Age fans, anyone getting 'vhenadahl'/city elf alienage vibes from this?}

A ground level view of the Great Bath, a large (now) outdoor pool built around a natural hot springs. There are Roman-inspired columns around the perimeter. Some parts of the structures are original Roman architecture, some are from a later excavation and reconstruction during the Victorian era (if I recall correctly). Most of the stone appears to be a warm, buttery colour. The sky is an amazing clear blue. It, and the buildings, are reflected in the water. The Bath Abbey, a gothic building, can be seen over the side of the upper floors of the Baths complex. It, too, is reflux in the water. It's most impressive!

Gorgeous weather today in Bath. Really made the Roman Baths shine.

A hotel shower. There is floor to ceiling glass (or something like) for the near wall and the door. The other sides are tiled in neutral tones. It looks sleek and modern. The problem is that there is only a shower. No tub is apparent.

A south-facing view through the double arches of Victoria Bridge in Bath. Most of the stone is light, though the caps over the arches are dark. There are 3 poles set into the ground on either end of the short span, presumably to keep it for pedestrians and cyclists only. The small, flat cobblestones are grey and look modern.

Looking directly down to a pavement and a utility access cover. The cement paving slabs have slightly different textures and colours (and discolouration). The dark metal plate has a pattern of small crosses, each composed of four triangles. At the center, a light, bright metal badge has been attached with rivets, covering the manufacturer's name. This new label has debossed lettering that reads "FAB." Dorchester Street, Bath, UK. Photo by Gearóid Burke.

The afternoon sun casts shadows of the numbers 4, 3, and 2 onto the tiled floor. On the right, three people await transportation: a standing man looks into the lens, and two people (one sitting on the floor) stare into handheld devices. Inside a former railway station with a vaulted glass roof supported by a series of semi-circular wrought-iron arches. The space is dominated by a wooden floor (with numerous metal strips attached to it at random angles). At the back, there are a few car parking spaces, and along the sides are market stalls and food outlets. Green Park Station (Bath, UK) was designed by John Holloway Sanders and opened in 1870. Passenger trains ceased in 1966 and the last goods train ran in 1971. It has become an active retail and events space (more so at weekends, rather than the Wednesday afternoon that this photo was taken on). Photo by Gearóid Burke.

A high contrast monotone photograph of a wooden floor. The large wood panels have numerous thin metal strips attached to them at apparently random angles. I think that these are slider strips to protect the wood from damage when heavy items are moved around it for the weekly markets held at this venue. Green Park Station, Bath, UK. A view from a window at night. On the left, the back of a row of Victorian houses. Moving to the centre, cars on the street parallel to the window bring light and colour to the scene. A tree with dead leaves and more houses are on the right. In the middle distance are the lights of distant urban housing. And beyond all that is the silhouette of a hill with a copse at its apex—its trees are framed by the reflection of a white doorframe back inside the room. Kelston Roundhill, and the west side of Bath city. Photo by Gearóid Burke.
