"Did I say something wrong?" Nerys asked carefully. "I thought we were having a good time." They'd both tried to learn not to overreact to each others' mercurialism. "No," Astarion said firmly. "I... no." He took a shuddering breath and stepped closer to take her hand. His grip was uncomfortably tight, but she didn't complain. "I'm still not very good at this," he muttered. "At what? There's nothing to do, just come here." She squeezed his hand by way of reassurance and he made an impatient sound. "Do you...do you remember the spell you used to use, back in the Gate?" He asked hesitantly, still not meeting her eyes. "The glowy one with the..." he gestured helplessly and understanding dawned.
"Ah, mage cock. Feeling nostalgic?" Nerys said with a wry smile. It was unlike him to be shy about anything related to sex. "But you know I can't summon it anymore. That's a warlock spell and I'm..." she shrugged, shaking her head. Those powers had gone with her connection to Bhaal. She did miss that spell. She tried not to think about how much she'd enjoyed something he'd given her. Much less his purpose for giving it... she suppressed a shudder. "Yes, well, about that," Astarion said brusquely, and abruptly stepped out of the pool to rummage in his pack. Nerys was confused, but quickly became sidetracked by the view of his ass she was granted as he bent over. She leaned on the edge of the tub with a bit of a dazed expression as he came back clutching something tightly in his hand. He thrust it at her and she took it, her hands dampening the parchment as she unrolled it.
"Oh, a scroll," she said, realization finally dawning on her face. She hadn't even known there were scrolls of this spell, though it made sense. "But where did you-" "I nicked it off a cambion last week," he interrupted. "Do you want it or not?" She just looked at him, her jade eyes impassive as his nose wrinkled impatiently. She patted the tiled ledge of the fountain in front of her. He glared at her for a moment before seating himself in front of her, his arms crossed over his chest and his legs dangling into the crystal clear water. It was hard to take his scowl seriously when he was naked and perched on the edge of the pool. She suppressed a smile.
"Astarion," Nerys said instead, setting aside the scroll in a drier spot before leaning forward between his legs to look up at him. "Are you asking for this? Is it...something you want?" She tucked a damp curl behind one long ear. She'd gotten the sense that he enjoyed it when they had done this before, but he'd never asked her to. Astarion bit his lip, still not meeting her eyes as he cleared his throat. "Well, I...I suppose I am," he said finally, his voice a little unsteady. That was good enough for her. Nerys didn't try to make him look at her. She just leaned forward and pressed her lips to his pale skin, lavishing kisses on his collarbone before trailing down to attend to each nipple. His back was rigid at first, but by the time she'd kissed her way down to his sternum he rewarded her with a soft cry, his head tipping back as he leaned on his hands.

"Just...this," she replied inarticulately, gesturing between them. A familiar turn of phrase. "Us. How we've made room for each other." Once he'd shucked off the paudrons she slipped her hands underneath his gambeson and kneaded at his chest briefly before tugging it over his head. Curls tumbled over his eyes and he looked down at her through them. "Made room," he repeated softly. "That's one way of saying it." He finished unlacing her cuirass before standing, yanking down his protective leggings and briefs to leave him stark naked before her.
His cock was half-alert from the kiss, about as present as it could be when he hadn't fed. A beatific smile shone on his face as he preened before her. "I don't know how that still works on me. I've been called beautiful a thousand times at least, and it mostly felt like nothing," he said, brushing his curls back to their customary place, off his forehead. "Even from you at first. But when you look at me like that..." He shook his head nd turned to extend one pale foot toward the warm water. A low sound of appreciation left his mouth when his toes sank into it. The restorative properties of the water worked even on the undead, and she was sure he could feel the weariness from weeks on the road leaving his muscles.
