OK! Just rode the fixed gear around the neighborhood 3 or 4 miles. Hooray! #FixedGearFriday may be back on tap for tomorrow’s #biketoworkKC The last time I was on a fixed gear was in January. I miss it.

This morning #biketoworkKC on the #minicargobike confirmed some slight fears. The freehub body is slipping under load. Guess that is coming apart for inspection & overhauling before the ride home. Worst case scenario I have another bicycle here to get home. #nocarlife

Tuesday marked 6 weeks since the wipeout that put me off the bike. After yesterday’s successful #biketoworkKC I did it again today. Hooray! #ohsomoist

Welp, today marks 5 weeks since the last #biketoworkKC with the seemingly minor wipeout that put me off the bike ever since. Having friends that are willing to interrupt their days to hang out & transport me around has been an unexpected bonus.

Probably wouldn’t have felt as bad if there wasnt that strong north wind.

Winter cycling tip: Don’t forget when you make a brief stop at a coffee shop (or wherever) to unzip your layers to “cool off” a bit before going inside to start sweating in your base layers making going back outside feel colder.

Welp this Saturday edition of #biketoworkKC is a cold & windy one. The kinda headwind where ya gotta work to keep from stopping on the downhills.

Yesterday’s #biketoworkKC was the first ride not on a #fixedgear since mid last week & it felt super slow (granted the headwind didn’t help). Back to the #fixedgear today. It is typically the winter commuter & this morning, temp wise, winter is back in #KansasCity

Gonna be a wet #biketoworkKC today. Possibly the pedal commute home this evening as well. #yayfun

Decided for the #fixedgearFriday edition of #biketoworkKC to mix up the route a bit & oh man. Forgot about all the downtown construction making it difficult which resulted in mixing up the route even more.

Spent the morning wondering how wet #biketoworkKC was gonna be but the rain was gone by roll time.
However, I did overdress a bit. Ah well. It happens.
Maybe one of these days I’ll get it figured out consistently. 🤪

The AC Gorilla Monsoon LTD was the rig of choice for the #myMondayisyourTuesday edition of #biketoworkKC

#biketoworkKC on the AC Gorilla Monsoon LTD with its new Ali Express fork went fairly well this morning.
Gotta couple adjustments to make to it, then the ideally an extended ride, aka commute+, home.

Welp, the Ali Express full carbon adventure fork finally arrived last week. Prepped it at the shop, brought it home, and installed it tonight.

#fixedgearFriday on a marginly warmer #biketoworkKC seemed like a good time for white accessories & garments. As in shoes, jacket, helmet, & glasses.

Judging by the number of angry or frustrated SM posts I’ve seen today about the snowy streets in #KansasCity I’m gonna guess, well assume, that I’m possibly the only one that rode a bicycle to work today. Perhaps?

Not planning to use the #fatbike for tomorrow’s #biketoworkKC but with the snow plus the poor plowing & removal that KC typically does it may be a good idea. Granted I did pedal commute to work 4 winters in Des Moines, Iowa without a fat bike & have no HOA Bridge to cross anymore so…

This may be the last season for my current rain gear. It seems to seep a bit. Guess I need to update my Chrome Industries VIP account
