A piece of knit fabric in a dark chocolate brown, mostly in stockinette, with a few purl stripes. Along the right side numbers are written, those numbers correspond to the needle sizes used to knit that section of the piece.

After I’ve scoured my sample, I spin it up in a simple 2y and then knit a sizeable swatch, using multiple needle sizes. I start two sizes smaller than I think will be ideal, and work my way up.
