I think it’s also about finding the right film/tv show for each person. There are some stories, I wouldn’t recommend to some an others that are for everyone to at least try. I think #BlossomsInAdversity is one of the latter.

Tina has already recommended some good ones, but if I had to suggest a first historical cdrama, I’d probably go with #BlossomsinAdversity - about a strong FL who overcomes social adversity & family friction to create a lovely human community, including a powerful ally & love interest

But Larry I feel there’s a lot of blurring going on here

It’s fine to enjoy watching “hot people”, but is that why I enjoyed #BlossomsInAdversity (which some people might label as an idol drama)?

Is a drama like #LoveLiketheGalaxy (which I’ve heard some people call an idol drama) watched by teens?

I remember watching it for Lu Yuxiao after seeing her in #BlossomsInAdversity & being impressed by how confidently she portrayed her character - she felt so vivid! - & I really liked the ML too, they worked so well together 🙂

#BlossomsinAdversity is excellent. I have watched it twice. Ditto #FlourishedPeony. I didn’t quite like AreYouTheOne as much as the plot was so ridiculously far fetched.

It’s slightly heavier in certain places than, for example, #BlossomsinAdversity (there’s some harsh treatment of women that the writers clearly wanted to expose, but which you need to be prepared for), but this is balanced with lovely warm hearted moments, laughter, friendship & eventual justice

Totally agree with that! #BrocadeOdyssey and #BlossomsInAdversity are such great #cdramas! More people need to watch!

I’ve seen her play an ingenue believably in #BlossomsInAdversity but normally there is a spark and liveliness in her gaze that shines through. I really enjoy watching her on screen
