#BrainDiseases aren’t always easy to see. They affect different people in different ways and to different degrees, and many begin many years before symptoms become apparent. And in many cases, the effects are invisible to others. #InvisibleIllness #InvisibleDisability

Huge news for #ParkinsonsResearch! The Landmark project led by Dr. Michael Johnson alongside Parkinson’s UK Brain Bank & 4 pharma leaders will transform #therapeuticdevelopment for #braindiseases. We’re honored 3' GEM-X #scRNAseq will power this initiative.
Rethinking dementia: new research from #Montefiore @EinsteinMed #neuropathologist Dr. Raquel Yokoda and others shows that many #dementia cases involve multiple overlapping #braindiseases — not just #Alzheimer’s.

🧠 Researchers at EARA members @vibai.bsky.social & @cbdresearch.bsky.social have used #AI, trained on human and animal data, to shed light on #BrainEvolution and how this may give clues to #BrainDiseases.

Research Discovery: Scientists may have found a new way to bypass the blood–brain barrier, which protects the brain from harmful molecules but also blocks helpful medication.
Diseases affected: ALS, Alzheimer’s and other dementias, addiction, and many other CNS disorders
Key findings: Researchers developed a compound called BCC10 that can help biomacromolecules and genetic therapies cross into the central nervous system.
What's next? This discovery was made using mouse models and isolated human brain tissue. The next step is to test with larger animal models.
Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York have developed a new approach to safely deliver therapeutics across the blood–brain barrier. This could enable more effective treatment for a wide range of #BrainDiseases.
