A few pieces of my early work including two coffee mugs in the background and a larger sculpted cup in the foreground. The mugs in the back are black with skull flowers hand painted on the surface. The foreground cup has sculpted eyes with lids, and lips with sharp teeth. It is also black with colorful skull flowers decorating the surface. Muted pink, red, blue, and yellow contrast with the black underglaze. The colors and clay body are dull/matte due to the pieces being in the greenware (unfired) state.

When I find myself slowly melting into creative slumpdom, I often revisit old works to remind myself of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown. This is the old work I revisit today.
