The American #colony of #Guam faced a #teachers #strike on #ThisDayInHistory in 1981 over low pay. Native #Chamorro teachers did not join in from fear of reprisals but hundreds of others walked out. After 58 days they had to concede defeat, and over 200 were fired and left Guam.
