#octoberhorrormoviechallenge #31horrorfilms31days 🎃 #day13 - #thetownthatdreadedsundown Based on the true story of the #texarkanamoonlightmurders where a masked #serialkiller known as #thephantomkiller spread fear & killed innocent people in Texarkana, Texas 1946. He was never caught or apprehended, his identity & motivation is still unknown today. Despite having a slapsticky comedic scene that does not fit the tone of this movie at all & a kill scene with a trombone that I highly doubt happend, it's still a good movie. Not a masterpiece, but it's definitely one of director #charlesbpierce 's good movies (he also made The Legend of Boggy Creek & The Evictors, both good movies as well) And yes, this movie inspired Jason Voorhees to wear a #burlapsack in Friday the 13th part 2. In 2014 they made another movie of the same name that is suppose to be a mix of a sequel & a remake. It's like they couldn't decide what it's suppose to be so they made this mix & they think they're being clever by making it like Scream & I Know What You Did Last Summer, but it just looks bad & I don't understand why they wanted it to look like a 90's Kevin Williamson movie! So that movie sucks, but I give it cred for being one of the first slasher movies to have a gay couple as horror movie victims, they did it first before Halloween Kills. #maskedkiller #silencer #bloodyhead #neckshot #trombonekill #thesheriff #raining #tiedtoatree #texasranger #rifles
