On April 2nd 1981 the film Christiane F. was released. New footage of Bowie in concert was shot for the film and the soundtrack was made up mostly of his songs from his Berlin era.

『デコーダー』
Christiane F.は手記『かなしみのクリスチアーネ』（1978年）が大きな反響を呼びそれが1982年に『クリスチーネ・F』として映画化されたあの彼女である。
映画公開時には音楽活動もしていて幾つかの作品をリリースしている。
余談だがこの頃Alexander Hacke（Einstürzende Neubauten）と付き合っていて一緒に音楽活動もしていた。
