Closeup of Heidi Klum as Medusa, snakes emerging from her head, which is scaly and green, as is her body. She has yellow slitted eyes - again, like a snake - and her tongue is striped and forked. Absolutely frightening.

Heidi Klum and her husband, Tom Kaulitz. Klum is a giant snake (a rattler!) with a human upper half and holds a recurved bow and arrow. Kaulitz is a Greek soldier turned to stone, holding his shield and sword defensively. Bravo!

Well, Heidi Klum and her husband win #ClassicalHalloween, hands-down. There are no other contenders. The makeup artists who created the makeup and prosthetics for this #Medusa and stoned victim should be given all the awards. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ† ๐Ÿบ #ClassicalBluesky

The Bravest Crab there Ever Was: The Great Karkinus and his Coin YouTube video by Classical Numismatics

Here is another amazing video I did with Classical Numismatics. This one is on the coins of Kos. Particularly ones with the crab on the reverse. One of the best I have ever seen!

Something fishy

A detail of a very fragmentary Coptic plate, probably of the 5th century, the team has found at the Paphos theatre site in Cyprus from post-theatre contexts. It was quite smashed up before amazing conservation work by the team.

Today's delve into my photos is of a few panels on the Ara Pacis. Beautifully detailed the site was surprisingly quiet, perhaps everyone was sweating in the Forum that day.

Finally had #Medusa hung in my office. Fortunate to have these free programs in Cleveland.

(Older maintenance guy giggled a bit while he worked, which made me happy too.)

After being failed by Google Images, here's a longshot question for #ClassicalBluesky. Does anyone know where this image is from, or who it is by?
