Common swift in flight against a clear blue sky, wings scythe-shaped and outstretched, carrying a pale, rounded insect bolus in its beak ready to deliver to waiting chicks. Common Swifts are legendary for their aerial existence: • They eat, drink, bathe, mate, and even sleep on the wing. • Research shows non-breeding adults can remain airborne for up to 10 months straight without landing, only touching down briefly during breeding season. • They feed almost exclusively on flying insects and airborne spiders caught mid-air.

A chaotic mess of #CommonSwift and #PallidSwift. They make difference noises which is about the only reason I can tell you there are both in this frame as otherwise they look quite similar in flight!
