This is a loose, rough sketch, where only the face is tightly rendered. I prefer to work form loose underdrawings and underpaintings, blocking in shapes and gestures, and keeping full rendering to a minimum, because I want the work process to be as expressive as possible.
I keep my underdrawings loose, because I like the process to be loose and expressive.
