A small tuft of Usnea Lichen can be seen on the branch of a tree in a forest with fresh powder snow. Looking uphill in the forest, a snowboarder's track, created before the rider stopped to turn back and photograph the lichen, is visible.
Found a tree with several tufts of Usnea Lichen while snowboarding 🏂 in a forest at #CopperMountain last weekend. A much-appreciated, late-season snowstorm drew me and Stormy🐯 out for what might have been our final snow riding day this season. A lower elevation mtn bike ride is planned for tonight.
Some triliums sprouted in the forest. They are pointed in white and purple colours
