A group of these Plovers were working the waterline on the Laguna Madre yesterday.

Although Willets have a drab coloration when they are walking along the shoreline, in flight the contrasting dark and light colorations give a striking look.

This pale and small shorebird was hanging out by itself in the area near the waterline.

Little Blue Heron was working the shallows for some food, walking around and striking the water when some prey fish is near.

When a second Ani flew in and landed right next to the other, a bit of preening began.

Decided to go out a few days ago to try some #BirdingWhileFoggy. I was hoping the weather would clear fairly soon to open up to some wider views. It didn’t happen as I planned so had to cut my morning short. #CorpusChristiTX.

This Burrowing Owl is standing guard over its culvert. It has been loyal there for some time and I usually see it standing on my drives past that area.

If you’re wondering if this owl nests underground, yes it does. This Burrowing Owl takes a different approach than other owls. Here, it has claimed a culvert for its residence in a ag area west of #CorpusChristiTx. #Birds

This large Gull was standing in the surf near the water’s edge. Herring Gull.

This large Gull with the very dark mantle and yellowish legs is a Lesser Black-backed Gull.

That giant decurved bill is a main attribute of this Long-billed Curlew.

A very common shorebird that is fairly drab while walking around shows off a bit of good looks in flight.
