85 years ago tonight November 14th #Coventry was bombed for 12 consecutive hours.
My mum hid in the basement of a factory, until a bomb hit the water tank on the roof so they moved to another shelter.

On ##ThisDayInHistory in 1940, the German #Luftwaffe staged a massive raid on #Coventry. 515 bombers participated in the #CoventryBlitz, and while the target was industrial infrastructure, the civilian and cultural damage was extensive. #CoventryCathedral was almost obliterated.

Coventry remembers 14 November 1940 #CoventryBlitz

The most concentrated attack on a British city during WWII saw over 500 people killed and 800 injured. 4000 homes were destroyed, along with one-quarter of the city’s factories, and the medieval cathedral of St Michael's.
