Testing wavetables in csound! #csound
An amazing algorithmic composition in #CSOUND based on single impulses being sent down a wave guide, which imparts the simple clicks with wonderful microtonalities. I ran CSOUND on my NeXT, and we can do it now in realtime even on our phones... :)

#Noisevember! A drone for once. This one is 8000 sound events trying to sound like one. Success? https://soundcloud.com/matthew-m-conroy/drone

#Noisevember! Another recursive composition with filtered noise. This one has longer sound event for a generally smoother sound. Enjoy! soundcloud.com/matthew-m-conroy/more-re...

#Noisevember! For a change, some rhythm. Random rhythms and timbres from a piano recording I made a while ago. Woot!

A home-made electronic device with six potentiometer knobs in a row across the top. The power switch is there, too, but it is blurry. Background is a cluttered table top, all pretty blurry.
#Noisevember ! I know, my Noisevember tracks haven't been consistently noisy. Then there's this. I built this little box a few years ago with six Schmidt trigger oscillator, just with a single knob to control the pitch of each. Quite noisy by itself. So I […]

#Noisevember ! Shortest track so far. Processed another field recording of a trombonist with a vocoder I wrote in Csound. Still trying to get a certain sound out of my vocoder... https://soundcloud.com/matthew-m-conroy/vocodertrombone

#Noisevember! More experimenting with live-processed sound using Csound. I like ring modulation, and I am trying to find things that are like ring modulation, but are not ring modulation. In this track, delays signals of distorted guitar interfere with each other spectrally in a not-exactly ring […]
Part of some sound experiments. Here, I played a tin whistle and modified the sound, live, with a Csound instrument that has delayed copies of the signal interfere with each other spectrally. No oscillators. https://soundcloud.com/matthew-m-conroy/tin-whistle-one

Work in progress. #sergemodular #csound
I recorded 15 layers of guitar, each processed through a different Csound instrument that I wrote anew for each layer. Each layer is simple, each has its own timbre. Somehow I find it all comforting.

Sigh. Barry Vercoe died. I count him as a true Prometheus bringing the power of synthesis to anyone with a computer. What a world he brought to us!

Csoundin keksijä Barry Vercoe on kuollut. Sattuipas juuri tähän kesään, kun yritän vihdoin nostaa oman musiikkiohjelmointitaitoni sille tasolle, että voisi oikeasti säveltää jotakin. Ettei harmita sitten kun itse kuolee.

And as the sound designer of @soundartgames.ch (as well as everything else, but we are talking sound here) I will find a way to use scanned synthesis in my game too, as soon as I get to actually implement the bridge between #Csound and #Godot using the tutorial the friendly neighborhood AI made me
So going through the #CSound CDs I found Scanned Synthesis and I think it fits nicely with my new performance idea of finally using my whole body as an instrument
One of my first @obsidian.md vaults was an import of the html files on the 2 CDs accompanying the #Csound book since as html code they are hard to look through, since then I am trying to clean things up and finding lots of interesting tidbits and sounds
Finally made an account here I am into generative interactive art music with #csound or modular, game dev mostly with #unity, but looking into #godotengine and #blender, dabbling in #p5js, if I follow you I know you either in RL or from X or because you came up in a search on these tags
I wrote my first useful program in c:
A GEN routine for #Csound generating control data based on the Lorenz attractor. Now I am controlling swarms of sine tones via this data.
