This raw turquoise nugget reveals a striking tension between vivid cyan and dark host-rock matrix. The electric blue-green color comes directly from copper bound within the mineral, the richer the copper content, the more intense the glow. Polished edges and curved sides amplify the brilliance, making the stone pop sharply against its weathered driftwood base. The dark brown and black veins threading through the surface are the matrix, remnants of the original host rock embedded during the stone’s formation along ancient fractures and seams. Where the center remains raw and unpolished, the layered structure becomes visible: thick turquoise shells encase a core still shot through with earthy inclusions, creating a natural mosaic of cool cyan and warm stone.
