Given the recent paper on cynodonts, here’s the skull of the #cynodont, Diademodon for this #FossilFriday.
Cynodonts were very diverse in the #Triassic, with one lineage giving rise to #mammals. They’re often thought of as rodent-like, yet cynognathid cynodonts like Diademodon were anything but!
