What a week in Göttingen! We are so grateful to everyone who made #DARIAH2025 such a special event. A huge thank you to all participants, organizers, attendees, and everyone who contributed. We'll share more reflections, photos, and reviews soon 🎉
Finally, it was time for the local organisers to take the stage and close #DARIAH2025 with a deserved applause for everyone involved in the organisation. As usual, everyone was looking forward to the next Annual Event, but for now, we only know that #DARIAH2026 will be organised in Italy… Ciao! 🇮🇹
The 3rd (and last) day at #DARIAH2025 had still some things in store for us: 2 interesting sessions, one on transforming digital methods, another on databases from past to future. This was followed by the final plenary, chaired by Ed Gray (Officer for National Coordination @dariaheu.bsky.social)!
It was such a pleasure to chair this panel, that examined how ERICs like DARIAH fit into the story of building a greater Europe, reinforcing that our role is not only political, but a public good! Deep thanks to the Board of Directors for their insightful and pertinent remarks. #DARIAH2025
Our final plenary is happening now for #DARIAH2025! Chaired by DARIAH's Ed Gray, our Board of Directors - Sally Chambers, Agiatis Benardou, and Susan Schreibman - take to the stage for the panel "How DARIAH and other Research Infrastructures are part of the story of European Construction" 🇪🇺
Leaving the wonderful #DARIAH2025 event a bit early, reflecting on this: The interest of researchers/institutions to join ERICs is strong and growing. National contributions vary, but in the SSH field, they can be relatively modest. And yet... becoming a national member of an ERIC takes YEARS. 1/2

Pétur Húni Björnsson: “The data is ready. Now what?”
The first version of the Icelandic Historical Farm- and People Registry is now public.
Pétur walked us through the challenges of dealing with imperfect data and embracing the idea that datasets can be ready without being finished.
…and @dariaheu.bsky.social board member (and former colleague) Sally Chambers had the honour to close this session with a nice throwback on the 1st Annual Event #DARIAH2016, hosted in our of Ghent! The video recap of this event is also still on YouTube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptoK...) 😀 #DARIAH2025

#dariah2025 the #Wikidata #Wikibase panel today was fantastic. I loved the concept of reusing existing infrastructure and community driven and owned services. Also happy to see that @nfdi4culture is taking up on this example. You can find the full slide deck on […]
