This is a photo of me seated in a chair and painting a red canvas with hundreds of white circles of all sizes. I am wearing a red wig, a red shirt with white circles on it and black shoes with white circles on them. There is a mannequin of a torso that has been painted red and covered in white circles. This is an ode to the Artists Yayoi Kusama. She is known for her use of millions of dots in her art to symbolize the universe that infinitely surrounds us. The painting is part of the “Mural Project” that takes place every year at the Kenai Art Center. Each artist is designated a portion of a large canvas that extends around the whole perimeter of the gallery. A theme is chosen for the show and artists can interpret it as they like with their work. Thanks for reading. Diane
