The weirs are family-owned and still running today as part of the fishing landscape. Hook and line, fishweirs and traps were used to fish on shore and in deeper water. With live catch being kept in pens in shelters bays. #OceansPast #UNOceanDecade #unitethesea #DecadeHeritage

Stone #fishweir is part of a wider range of fishing methods (netting, longlining, spearing) that we can date back to prehistory. A range of socioeconomic roles for groups such as chandlers, boat makers, fishermen/mongers interlinking sea and people .#unitethesea #DecadeHeritage #UNOceanDecade 1/2
