A horizontally compressed sequence of images showing Baily's Beads and the Diamond Ring effect during a total solar eclipse. The images, taken 1/3 of a second apart, capture the sun's light shining through valleys on the moon's edge just before and after totality. The eclipse was visible from Novosibirsk, Russia on August 1st, 2008.
