Now that I have a general distrust of old transistors, I’m wondering if a problem with Q3 to Q5 on my #DiscsOfTRON Squawk and Talk board are why the speech isn’t working. I have 2N3904 on hand. Let’s find out!

Two birds. Replacement PIA chip for squawk and talk PCB and a new fangled optical spinner board. I suspect I need to check on the voltages now that so many long dormant lighting features are now active again. #DiscsOfTRON

Almost there! Just the other floor level fluorescent that sits facing your toes to figure out. Had to take it out to troubleshoot and OMG! Putting it back is gonna suckkkk! #DiscsOfTRON

5 new cross legged transistors later and… #DiscsOfTRON

Upon advisement of counsel (aka CDJump) I’m replacing all the transistors on the #DiscsOfTRON lamp sequencer PCB. You have to cross the legs as shown to make this chip work. Excited!

Manually got these banks of lights in the #DiscsOfTRON to illuminate by forcing some pins high. Hoping I can find an IC that’s being naughty.

Gonna try this 21.3” 4:3 aspect ratio monitor that I bought off eBay in the #DiscsOfTRON cabinet. Specially made for CAD design these are rare and a half.

Finished rebuilding the #DiscsOfTron power supply. Found a couple issues with the two dual power amp boards that I fixed but they didn’t end my continuing struggle to get strobe lights & flashing overhead lights to shown signs of life. Need to fix #Chiller probs I’m having, too.

Yet another high priced trigger pulled today. This one for #DiscsOfTRON reproduction glass, mirrors, marquee and overlays.

Installed the #jawhn http://easycoinup.com credit button on the #DISCSOFTRON. Someone clipped the wires leading to the credit button inside the coin door. How quaint.

Game assembled for now. Will get the other lights working eventually but playing some EDOT finally! Three weeks of work totally worth it. #tron #discsoftron #environmentaldiscsoftron

Moved 4 games to get Chiller and #DiscsOfTRON inside. Here’s where the #EDOT will go while I put all the parts back inside. Got 4 games that need to head to the #Conroe climate controlled fortress.

Fixed the burned up caps on the #DiscsOfTRON PCB. Took it apart to examine boards (they’re fine) plus change out the ribbons and OH MY GOD IT TOOK FOREVER TO PUT BACK TOGETHER BECAUSE CONFUSION.

This cabinet came with a broken 3D lenticular marquee as well as a “flat” 2D translite. If I put in a better patch on the hole I think I may use this one. #discsoftron #edot #arcadegames
