I made a lot of progress on my #DockerSwarm #Tailscale hybrid CLI today. Haven't made progress on a good project in a long time.

Feels great!

I brought up a cluster on the first try, by running just one command on each node.

Will share once I sand the rough edges, but I'm calling it "TailSwarm".

I've been trying to cobble together an #infrastack built on #DockerSwarm and #TailScale, and it's finally coming together!

- Nodes communicate over TS
- TS makes discoverability easy
- TS tags isolate environments
- A nice little #cli & .yml to make it declarative-ish

Swarm mode Docker Engine Swarm mode overview

I am taking a look at https://docs.docker.com/engine/swarm/ and I don't see any timeouts. Obviously, there are going to be timeouts at the OS layer and such, but it seems like there should be timeouts in #dockerswarm. Do they not exist?

One of the best decisions I made was to fully focus on VPS’s for my deployments. I can self-host literally anything with my own standards without being a slave from a cloud corporation. I’m leveraging #dockerswarm to handle #minio, #postgres and #nginx
