Sunrise at Dolly Sods Wilderness.
I drove all day Saturday to get there and the rain rolled in as soon as I arrived. But the skies cleared around 3 a.m. and I was able to get some good sunrise shots.

A strange rock formation takes center stage of this photo. What I loved about it was that it sort of looks like a creature in a pirates hat point towards land. Through the space between the face/hat and the pointing part, is a familiar mountain if you follow me. this mountain is rather long and the along the top is a very visible rock line. some out of focus vegetation is the foreground and more mountains and blue sky in the background.

A view from near Dolly Sods. It is the other wildlife management area right beside it with all the cranberries and blueberries. If you know, you know. The picture itself is of a rock formation that frames a distant mountain's granite cliffs. Some small blueberry bushes can be seen out of focus in the foreground.

Dolly Sods Wilderness, WV. Years ago, after being told how amazing it was, I drove 4 hours, camped out overnight, got up at dawn, shot photos, drove home. Then the lab ruined the film (this was in the days of film). I scanned the slides & rescued the images with Photoshop.
