#22: 12/12/2024 - Writing: During the Midnight Hour - Chapter 4 Standing on the stoop of the stone house in Aberdeen with his suitcase in hand, Simon stared at the brass numbers on the door for a long moment and gathered his courage. It wasn’t often he felt the need to steel himself against anything. He swallowed hard and knocked. Bare moments later, the blue painted wood swung open, and Anna beamed up at him. She stepped out onto the stoop to hug him tightly around the ribs, and he folded down around her. "Oh, I missed ye, lad. Sad to see John's not with ye, but I'm glad to have ye all the same. Come in, come in," she ushered as she stepped back into the house.
