wesker seeing leon as a "poison" to ada's abilities as a perfect spy alongside just being someone he genuinely trusts and respects and wanting to see for himself how exactly he "Ruined" her... but when he observes them together he Eventually has to come to terms with the fact that this is who ada has always been, leon just gave her the "power" to Fully Become it. a pair of delicate hands to cup her while she was a chrysalis... and he starts as the cuck and observing them etc but then slowly starts becoming absorbed into them and then before he knows it they're a Pack. leon doesn't seek to Out-edge wesker Or denounce 'where ada came from' wrt her profession and she and wesker's time together and that leon actually wants to learn more about ada Through wesker... the exact same thing that wesker is trying to do with leon.,., and they're once again mirrors of each other and ada sees her two lives staring into one another and knows neither of them will ever change and that's precisely why She Has To [for her own sake].

wesker stalking the edges of leon and ada's intimacy but leon and ada don't Bar him from joining them... they beckon him closer and he doesn't think that he'll have any problem separating himself from them becuase he's always been able to separate himself from Everybody Anybody. but ada and leon are His Own Reflections and they don't have his Evil but they have his Flaws and they force wesker to look at his own reflection .. wesker's always the one holding the mirror but now he's in front of it and he hates it but he can't look away... leon didn't Change Ada, he only showed her who she really was the whole time. when he cooks for them or watches them together, is that who he really is? a part of a pack? a lost, angry and directionless creature? someone who accepts being known, who exists as a takeout order on a stained long-since-faded receipt in leon kennedy's wallet? their bonds with him don't Soften him, but they force him to be aware of parts of him he thought he'd spent his life Surgically (or Genetically, lol) Removing...

I think Wesker has seen lots of different kinds of "power" throughout his lifetime and knows that there is a stark difference between physical strength, and power. Power is subjective and something that interests him endlessly to think about and observe both in himself and others (I want to elaborate on this more but for now...). Growing up, he would look at animals and think "Surely I Could snap this creature's neck." He would have been home schooled (imo) anyway, but he'd hear of or see other youths doing "kid things" (at the time in the 60s lol) like torturing small animals or whatever and thinking a lot about it. What is the point in establishing dominance over something that you are very clearly objectively superior to? Where is the glory, the productivity, or the thrill, in that? Surely you could kill a newborn puppy if you wanted to. They are weak, their teeth underdeveloped and their livelihood dependent on the mercy of their guardians. Would there not be more reward in training the creature, teaching it to suit you long after it should have had the good sense to abandon you? Having power over others that was Gifted to you by the beasts themselves, rather than Taken from them like a brute (this is also why, in my opinion, despite his numerous atrocities, he would not be interested in being sexually abusive)? Now that was something he could get on board with. Why should he run around trying to prove himself when he already Knew himself superior? Flexing muscles and flaunting power as physical prowess seems so crass to him. It's tacky. Anyone can get muscles. Anyone can hold power over the defenseless. Anyone can weasel their way into a war room. He would be much more intrigued by people who push him, who challenge him. Who are capable of being quick-witted and maybe a little cruel... but he'd like it even better if he was the one drawing out that "cruelty"! He loves to push someone who he knows will push him back.

I think he'd be so self-assured, he wouldn't need to prove he's the most powerful person in the room. He would walk into a room and nobody would dispute his power. Not because they'd necessarily seen it for themselves (I think he'd do his "dirty work" with guns or knives primarily, and would seldom ever use his viral powers unless in specific circumstances of his choosing. That's part of his own version of power I spoke of earlier!), but because surely someone like him has a reason for being that calm all the time, no? I think the idea of people perceiving him in the way I just mentioned would thrill him more than if people were mystified by the use of his powers... because he likes being mysterious and unreadable! He likes it when people don't know what he's thinking. He can hear the nervous beatings of their hearts when people are around him. That's enough for him. He likes having an edge over others, but he doesn't need to show you proof that he has one. It's okay if you don't believe it at first, because it thrills him to entice you to see things his way. He considers stark obedience to be just like fawning: a little embarrassing (on your part!) and to be expected. Predictable. How Quaint (boring)! But if he can... persuade you himself, then that would thrill him a thousand times more. It's no fun being in the business he's in if everyone just rolls over!
