To reveal a tidbit of my #EdMcBain research - Evan Hunter sometimes performed in amateur dramatics productions. As part of the Pound Ridge Players, he appeared as Charlie The Burglar in their adaptation of Kingsley's Detective Story.

The answer is that is the 1964 film 恐怖の時間 AKA Fright Time or Time of Fear, adapted from #EdMcBain #87thPrecinct story KILLER'S WEDGE.
Directed by Katsumi Iwanai (岩内克己) this was a Toho film, the year after Kurosawa's High and Low.

This #EdWood trading card is somewhat dismissive of the lengthy tv career #GregoryWalcott enjoyed, not least 30 episodes of #87thPrecinct (1961-62), based upon the #EdMcBain novels, in which he co-starred with #RobertLansing, #RonHarper and #NormanFell. I watched the full run a couple of years ago.
