Taking a bit of a social media break (and loving every minute of it), but I figured I'd touch base with everyone on here because you all rock. My Mustang is standing up on its own three legs and will be ready for decals just as soon as I hit it with a gloss clear coat. #f51mustang #histscalemodels

An evening filled with fuzz-drenched guitar riffs, anti-establishment lyrics, and a piston-engined beast. Also made a few touch-ups this morning. The anti-glare panel doesn't have the crispiest edges, but masking and painting it was no picnic! #f51mustang #histscalemodels #doommetal #oldschoolpunk

Yellow has been added to wingtips and the tail. Overspray occurred 🤬. Guess I needed a wider piece of tape. I "fixed" it by dry-brushing aluminum paint on by hand. At first I hated the results, but then realized it looked more realistic. Happy accidents! Gotta love em. #f51mustang #histscalemodels

All shades of metal have been applied. The end of this project is getting closer! #f51mustang #histscalemodels

A third shade of metal has been applied. "Silver" on the gun access and ammo access panels. It's breaking things up very nicely. Tonight I'll apply the "Steel" color to other panels. And after that? Squadron markings. Chuggin' right along. #f51mustang #histscalemodels

Added some "dark aluminum" to a few spots. Not a lot. I've got two more metallic shades to use on this thing, so I don't wanna overdo it. #f51mustang #histscalemodels

Many heavenly thanks to Grandpa Bob today. His old college project- a vise from the fall of 1941- came in handy while I applied the primer coat on my Mustang. He'd be happy to know it's still in use! #f51mustang #histscalemodels
