15. Romantic movie and book recs
I absolutely love the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. The way it's shot is just so dreamy 🥺 For books, I'd rec Heaven's Official Blessing cuz the romance is just sooo good. But a warning, it's long af lol #fantasyindiesjanuary
There was a clear gash in the centre of the stone, about the size of her hand. She pressed it to her breastbone, where the ruby still sat, and then she placed her hand upon the gash to compare. A jolt of electric magic ran through her when her hand made contact with the stone, as potent as Raziel’s touch on that first night not so long ago. Darkness clouded her vision, but she didn’t faint as she had before. Instead, the darkness spread into hundreds of different colours beneath her eyelids, shifting like a kaleidoscope. They slowly materialized into shapes, into people she had never seen before but somehow knew.
14. Saturday Snippet (late lol)
Some writing I did recently on this WIP! #fantasyindiesjanuary
9. What does MC want to be known for?
It's cheesy but i think Théa really just wants to be known as Raziel's wife. She's been in love w him for a long time and she wasn't able to fulfill her promise to him for many years. So now she'd want to make up for lost time #fantasyindiesjanuary

I'm Jade McStar. I'm working on several Wips.

Project Phoenix (working title) is a fantasy story tied into the world I made for my D&D campaign. Rough draft finished. #fantasy #sci-fi
❄️ #FantasyIndiesJanuary ❄️ Jan 31
I wrote 19,564 words this month, and I've written something (even just a paragraph) every day since Nov 1. I don't usually advocate writing every day, but my creative muscles needed exercise so I'm trying to keep up momentum :)
Can't wait for February!
1/31 #FantasyIndiesJanuary
January could’ve been more productive, but I still outlined five new stories, added a bunch of worldbuilding notes, and have started preparing three novelette reprints for a wide launch.
Here’s hoping I can get back to drafting in February!
The Fantasy Indies January prompt list- an engaging social share prompt list for fantasy authors.
Day 31-Monthly Wrap Up! January was a great month for my writing, I'm about half way through my first draft of my new WIP. The people I've shared it with so far have given me rave reviews and there's already a reader fave character that I absolutely have adored writing. #FantasyIndiesJanuary #WIP
I achieved my January goal: to finish writing the bonus epilogue for my book, Beyond the Humming Downs. The epilogue has been delivered to my subscribers. Huzzah!
Leo and I also celebrated his two-year adoptaversary, and I read/listened to 6.5 books.

It's been a month. 😮💨 The icing on top was learning my day job is letting me go in September. That really threw me off my game. But despite the difficult month, I'm almost finished with my revisions for the second edition of Dark Reflections. 👏🏻

Didn't get too much writing done, though I at least got a nice start to drafting Fateweaver this month. Might put more of a focus on worldbuilding & character bios in February.

#FantasyIndiesJanuary Monthly Wrap-Up
January has been... okay. I've been excited to get MANIFESTING DESTINY into paperback form, I've had a little bit of growth on both my Substack and YouTube, and it's been nice to get back into a little bit of a routine. Still need to focus more on writing, tho.
Monthly wrapup:
The Astra Idari #Kickstarter is progressing nicely towards launch. Some big milestones in January.
I got a good start on Eververse Book Six, but ran into some headwinds this last week.
Went to my first live event of 2026, and it was a smash!

Well, I got further along in the WIP! I struggled with the love scene, so I ended up skipping it for now. The characters are about to approach the final arc and I'm hopefully going to finish the draft in Feb (minus that scene I skipped)
