 🇬🇧 "Lady from Amsterdam"
Before you lies the likeness of a most noble lady of Amsterdam, rendered by my own hand in the full flower of the Baroque, in the seventeenth century. I encountered her not within the gilded confines of a court, but by the hushed waters of a canal — where stone and tide, like eternal mirrors, catch the reflection of all that was, and is, and is yet to be. Her coif, crowned with ostrich plumes, rose with a haughty grace; the feathers stirred not from the wind’s caprice, but seemed to breathe with the very air itself — trembling as if possessed of life. They were bound by no common means, but with an arcane art: a nameless alloy held them fast, while a delicate filament within the quill lent them a curve that time itself could never wither. She sat upon her horse with a quiet command, moving at a stately pace as if the very wheel of time turned at her pleasure. With a lace collar as intricate as winter’s frost and a coiffure of noble height, she presented an image where elegance and a subtle theatricality walked hand in hand.
“Do you marvel, sir, at my attire?” the lady asked, reining in her steed with a playful inclination of her head. “You regard me with such astonishment — as though I were some exotic curiosity arrived from overseas, or, Heaven forbid, a phantom that hath mistaken the hour and appeared in time for dinner!”
“I behold endurance, Madam,” I replied, my fingers tightening around the cold steel of my device. “Your beauty shall be etched upon mirrored steel, which knows no decay and fears not the rust of passing ages.”
“You speak like an alchemist who hath discovered the philosopher’s stone within my very collar,” she laughed, her voice bright as a bell.

I've always loved little green lizards. I spent a lot of my childhood marveling at the beautiful green color that could change to brown. As an adult, I've spent many summers on my front porch, watching the native green anoles scamper about or sun themselves on my porch railing. #FashionHistory 🧵

one of the best things to come back in the 2010s was the statement accessory. Men, women, and those in between all had some form of statement piece. I think that this is a style trend that must come back. #fashionhistory #fashion
