The illumicrate exclusive edition of Tideborn by Eliza Chan. The beautiful cover shows a whimsical seascape with two sea dragons and two mermaid-like figures. The colors are pastel shades of oranges and sea-greens. The book’s edges are printed in a wrap-around continuation of the cover illustration.

Was it a tough week? Did I have to go and order the illumicrate edition of #Tideborn (the sequel to #Fathomfolk) by Eliza Cheng to pamper myself? Yes and hell yes! This girl needed a treat. It was hard earned.

Dafür, dass ich so viel “meh” über #Fathomfolk gehört habe, finde ich’s bisher richtig gut: faszinierende Unter-/Überwasserwelt, interessante Figuren, gewichtige Themen wie Rassismus, Diskriminierung und Immigration. Und nach drei YA-Romanen genieße ich den erwachsenen Stil des Buchs.
