Too late for @wildflowerhour.bsky.social's grand finale #FavouritePlant challenge last night, so a rather belated post this morning. My favourite UK orchid finds this past year - a var. bicolor Early Spider Orchid, and a strange Fly Orchid with a rose-pink speculum.

A bit late I’m sorry! Too many to choose from but a new one for me was Moonwort seen at Aberffraw on Anglesey. Oh and the Early Marsh Orchid var coccinea same location. A very special place 🤩
Reversed Clover was another #favouriteplant and a nice suprise when out in Jersey! Some other gorgeous plants seen whilst there: Jersey fern (Anogramma leptophylla), Small Melilot (Melilotus indicus) and Dwarf Rush (Juncus capitatus)
It's so difficult to pick a #favouriteplant after a year filled with such wonderful botanical adventures. Meeting Purple Coltsfoot (Homogyna alpina) for the first time on the slopes of the magnificent Corrie Fee definitely stands out 😍 #wildflowerhour
Hard to choose my #FavouritePlant so have decided for the Dracaena fragrans, a plant that I care for, and for the #Wildflowerhour the Dracaena's flower, it blooms once a year under ideal conditions, producing a cluster of small, white flowers with a sweet scent that spreads more intensely at night
Rain caught on the hairs of tiny seed pods, making the spindly green stalks look as if they’re carrying raindrops
A bit late to #wildflowerhour for my #favouriteplant of 2025, which was these Enchanter’s Nightshade seed pods turned truly magical by the rain in Germany’s Black Forest this August #schwarzwald

My #FavouritePlant for #wildflowerhour found this year has to be Annual Knawel, on a sandy track near Land's End.It's not a spectacular plant but it hadn't been recorded in the area since 1902, so a memorable plant indeed.

For my #FavouritePlant this year I think I'll go for Great Burnet which is always a joy to see - here in full flower at the end of August in its upland habitat, growing with Devil's-bit Scabious and Tormentil #WildflowerHour
