I've seen something awful happen Yes, it is very awful I have seen it coming, have you all, too? It is the collapse of what was The collapse of what was is coming Can't you see? This was happening all along Democracy is fading Politicians lie Freedom and the persuit of happiness no longer matter The economy has fallen Many jobs have been lost Many hurt and many scream People blame, people complain Nevertheless, what for? The country is rife with corruption and greed The things I speak of are The Collapse Cringe and be afraid The Collapse was inevitable It was building up Laying dormant Now it has awakened It is happening and I have seen it coming Yet, it came Cringe and be afraid We are in the shadow of the The Collapse

I wrote this back in 2013 and I wonder if there was something I knew back then that I didn't know now. Maybe it's hindsight, I suppose, considering certain political goings.
