Today is the #FeastOfTheAssumption in the Catholic and Orthodox churches so it felt during to do a #flashbackfriday post of these two #Mary sculptures I've created for churches in Salford and Pwllheli.
Very different styles and imagery recognising the same person. Which do you prefer and why?

An oil painting of two male figures in elaborate robes kneel on the bround, each gazing upward. Next to each man, his mitre sits on the floor. The man on the left has hands raised, palms together in prayer. The man on the right holds his hands out to either side, palms upward. At the top center of the painting is a standing female figure with hands clasped before her in prayer. On either side of her is an angel; the two angels hold a crown which they are placing on her head. Outside the oval space that contains the woman and the two angels are at least 6 more angels, one of whom has a book and at least two of whom hold, maybe play, musical instruments. The primary colors are orange, yellow and brown, with a bit of white and gold.
