Took a trip down our trails doing routine maintenance and saw a number of animals today. Lizards, chipmunks, skinks, box turtle, and squirrels to name a few.
This is an Eastern Fence Lizard that was sunning on our garden bed.

A photograph of the right side (almost like a profile shot) of a Western Fence Lizard, or Blue Belly, clinging upright on the inside edge of a gray weathered doorjamb. It has mottled scales of gray, brown, green, and tan, with long toes, and a long tail. A streak of almost iridescent blue on the side underbelly starts from beneath the front right leg and extends almost to the back leg.
A cropped and zoomed-in photograph to easier see the blue scales of a Western Fence Lizard, or Blue Belly, clinging upright on the inside edge of a gray weathered doorjamb. Also, he was definitely watching me as I took his photo.
This Western Fence Lizard has been hanging around in my tack room/storage shed. You can just see a streak of blue on his underside extending down from the front leg, which is why they are also called "Blue Belly" lizards. #photography #lizards #reptiles #nature #blue #bluebelly #fencelizard
