The kids don't agree but I think they're going to stay over tonight

Still considering but yeah - a cold garage with snow in the forecast or rig a spot for them here.

These were just taken an hour ago. It’s an overcast day and the lighting was pretty meh. Still, the egret was a patient model and allowed me in range to get a couple of shots with decent focus. All in all, not bad 😊

A dark gray bird with a black cap, a sparkling black eye, a short black beak, and cinnamon red undertail coverts perches on top of a bush covered in small, bright green leaves and red berries in profile facing right. It is puffed up and fluffy as it tries to soak up the sun, and, for once, its beak is closed and silent. They are very chatty birds.

Trying to narrow down my favorite migrators is impossible, so I'm going with one that embodies both themes. I always miss the sounds of Gray Catbirds, even if they're usually yelling at me.
