It is as well my first time with dyed yarn.

the last couple of episodes were almost great! But I'm not sure it was worth wading through the slog of the first 3 or 4 to get to a point where the competition felt fair and not like a group task on The Apprentice. #GameOfWool

in all seriousness, I do think #GameOfWool can be a very good show! But there needs to be SIGNIFICANT changes to the format, the judging line-up, the show's MO and yarn supplies.

I love the people in #GameOfWool. The judging, not so much. The challenges are interesting. I think it would be fun to work with so many different yarns, though!

They should have given them dolls. Give them all 18 inch dolls, let them work in more normal yarn (not perfect scale, but a DK doll jumper never killed anyone) and you could actually have time to produce something that shows off the skills.

Watching ep 3 of #GameOfWool and honestly, this is just cruelty to crafters. The reason I stopped watching GBBO is because it started to feel mean and artificially tense.

This is too much work in not enough time, with weird needle/yarn sizes people are not used to working with.

btw think i know what happened with the bubble stitch in #gameOfWool. you can unravel as you knit or you can drop the stitch after going into the stitch 4 below and unravel later by pulling the fabric apart. it looks messy at first but it's faster and possibly neater. no lost stitches.

I am really sad that Isaac didb't make it through to the final. he's my fave, so cute and sweet and innovative, the only real thing that separates him from Holger is a couple of rushed stitches. for real #GameOfWool

I loved this moment. Holger was so raw and vulnerable, and I was hoping Tom would respond in some tender way that showed he realised he was standing on the shoulders of giants.

The thing that bugs me most about #gameofwool is that it has no excuse to be so bad. Everything it did wrong is a solved problem, it just chose to reinvent the wheel, badly. Hats should have been challenge #1, the finale should have been one of their design challenges, done at home.
