Love this brass inlay in the threshold of the Tollbooth Bar at Glasgow Cross. This bar, along with the neighbouring tenements, was designed in a Scots Renaissance style by J.J. Burnet and was built in 1899.

The Neo-Classical Quadrant designed by A. Graham Henderson in 1913 and built in 1922 at Glasgow Cross. it was meant to be one of a pair of mirror-image buildings on either side of the Tollbooth Steeple, but the second was never built.

It was designed by Edith Burnet Hughes, the neice of John James Burnet. Born in Edinburgh in 1888, she established her own architectural firm in Glasgow in 1920, and was one of the first female architects in Britain to do so.
