I am glad you remember #Glodok. My friends and I went there as kids, but only have vague recollections of the place, at best.
When I went there, I saw the neighbourhood, Buddhist temples, the Catholic Church, and lots of food. I didn’t see electronics, but maybe I wasn’t in the area where they are.

#Kulineria: Operating out of a motorcycle, Pak Iwan’s pork #Siomay is humble at the surface and delicious upon taste. A squeeze of calamondin gives the peanut, chilli, and sweet sauce combination an added freshness.
I don’t know if he is in the same spot in #Glodok each day, though.

On Saturday, we spent the morning and afternoon roaming #Glodok via #Transjakarta, then spent the evening until just before midnight at #TheCocktailClub.
When I told my friends, they were almost in unison when they stared for a bit, then said:
“Slow down, Maria. You’re not in your 20’s anymore.”

Jelakeng alley in the old Chinatown of Jakarta, which used to be the Chinese quarter just outside of the city wall of Batavia back in the days, was infamous for its prostitution and opium use. That's no longer the case, but it's history is still interesting! #Glodok #Jakarta #Indonesia
