The original bookmarks, “Fragmented,” were made with ink and bleach on black paper.
I think adding more gold ink linework made a huge difference.

In the top left corner is a large gold branch thats roots stretch over 2/3 of the top and the rest of the branch down ¾ of the left side. Where the smoke overlaps it, the branch breaks. A few dead, golden leaves hang from the smaller branches. Stretching ¾ up the right side is another golden branch with a smaller root system. It also has a few dead leaves hanging from its branches further up. There are a few watermarks reading “LEAVES AND INKS” in an oak leaf.
Winding through the gnarled trees, down twisting and turning paths,
it’s not hard to lose your way.
