The AI Risk Management Framework of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the United States demonstrates integration resulting from co-design involving practitioners, researchers, and community representatives to anticipate AI risks before deployment and shape AI standards. The Association for Computing Machinery’s Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (FAccT) community exemplifies rigor by building an international, cross-disciplinary network that investigates the societal shaping and consequences of AI through empirical research.
