THE LURE OF THE FUTURE An Exhibition by Simone Bailey
This exhibition examines the universe of The Maroons, a short- lived 1970s band that existed at the intersection of black power and punk rock. Through the presentation of a vinyl record with songs recorded specifically for this project, as well as photographs, sculptures, and ephemera, Bailey’s work explores the band’s brief existence and untimely disappearance, while also delving into rock ‘n’ roll’s cultural legacies. The artist will make remarks during the reception at 4pm.
