Hardhead or Knapweed and Apis melifera or Honey bee. Bees just love this flower. The air hums to the sound of them when near.

I've been at large with the old Canon 7D and 50mm lens with extension tubes, again. It is just such a lot of fun and although there are many failures the odd good shot makes up for all those.

A brown insect resembling an ant on a leaf. It may be a nymph since its wings are not visible, but they may be folded the same way rove beetles fold theirs to be short and expose the abdomen. This would help it look more like an ant. Its proboscis is folded back under its body so it is barely visible. This is what most hemipterans do while not feeding.

A very interesting bug. It looks like an ant, a leaf cutter guarding a plant, but it is a hemipteran, an assassin bug. Look closer and you’ll see its proboscis. I don’t have an ID. 🌿
