So delighted to see this in real life! My friend and colleague Louis-Pierre Bergeron spotted this #HiddenHorn at the Seoul Arts Centre Concert Hall when he was here last year, I just got to see it in real life before the first Springhead Constellation concert this evening.
#HiddenHorn sent to me by George Kennaway, spotted at the Rokin metro station in Amsterdam!.
Another from Ruairi Bowen! Isn't this cute? Apparently it was used to summon him and others to dinner the other night! A tiny horn/bugle type thing. Must have gone "squeeeee". #HiddenHorn
There must be some story here! This was spotted by my lovely colleague Ruairi Bowen, it's someone's garden gate next to the Hereford Rowing Club. Excellent #HiddenHorn and there must be some explanation!?
Happy Christmas folks! Here's a #HiddenHorn Christmas angel that Bertil van Boer shared with me recently!
It's bizarre for sure, but I kind of like it! #HiddenHorn spotted in this painting seen in Lucerne by my friend and colleague Mark Gebhart!
My friend Tim Dyess spotted these #hiddenhorn / #hiddenhornplayers in a detail of this collage in an exhibition of Robert Doisneau's photography at the Musee Maillot in Paris. Individually this photo is entitled "Monsieur Rochard, professeur de cor" (1949),
I don't know much about this #HiddenHorn - spotted alongside some other brass instruments in the bottom right hand corner of this painting in the Dom Museum, Salzburg. Any one able to help?
They make up part of a ceramic bas-relief by Max van der Linden and given by the Belgian royal family to the Irish president Éamon de Valera who had it placed on display at the Academy. #hiddenhornplayers #hiddenhorn
How about this as another take on the horn as symbol of a post office? This #HiddenHorn was spotted by Elia Messercola in Abbruzzo, Italy.
I have no idea what the back story for this is but this #HiddenHorn was shared with me by fellow horn player Peter Moutoussis who spotted it at the @troubadourldn.bsky.social in London!
#HiddenHorn spotted in the detail of this lithograph on display at the Mozart Birthplace Museum in Salzburg. This is a 19th century litograph by Anton Ziegler supposedly depicting Mozart's first appearance in Paris and was sold to raise funds for the Mozart Statue.
There's a few of these tourist "Kaiserlich-Königlichen" shields in the shops in Salzburg - probably catering for all sorts of hobbies and interests - I spotted these #HiddenHorn shields in the window of Gertraud Lackner's shop on the Badergäßchen.
However(!) I'm unsure it's a positive depiction given the title: "Vanity Sounds the Horn and Ignorance Unleashes the Hounds (Overconfidence, Rashness and Desire)". Hmmmm. #Hiddenhorn #Hiddenhornplayer
Nathan Voges recently shared with me this fetching set of German "Skat" cards - I rather like the theme! #HiddenHorn #hiddenhornplayer ddenHornPlayer
No visit to NYC would be complete without a trip to @strandbookstore.bsky.social . Loved the title and cover of this one ;-) #hiddenhorn

A nice spot by organist (and collaborator!) Benedict Preece - here's a #HiddenHorn adorning the top of the organ in a church Benedict was recently performing in in Oldemarkt, The Netherlands..
Here's a #HiddenHorn from "regular correspondant" horn player Jonathan Ring - he's been spotting this one for "the past 28 summers" (impressive!) performing for the Grand Teton Music Festival in Wyoming.

George Frederick Handel died on this day, 14th of April, 1759. Here's a rather anachronistic for Handel, but it's still a rather lovely #HiddenHorn that my delightful colleague Peter Moutoussis spotted on an old LP.
My lovely friend and colleague, clarinetist Nicola Boud spotted this #HiddenHorn when she was back home in East Freemantle, Perth. Love it and also the beautiful sky!
I like this one A LOT! This #HiddenHorn was spotted in Zug by my wonderful colleague, timpanist Koen Plaetinck. What a joyful character!
