Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) goes along with secondary #hyperparathyroidism. Our group was the first to describe this. The mechanism leading to #sHPT is unclear, but it may contribute to the loss of bone substance in #CRPS.

Had surgery to remove overactive parathyroid gland & half my thyroid (possible cancer) #hyperparathyroidism Extra calcium can wreak havoc all over the body. And hydrocodone messes with ability to sleep. Surgery was a success & numbers went down. Now to see if symptoms go away over the next months.
