Does anyone have an updated overall 2019-2025 #Igivarod total? Based on the estimated number I saw at the beginning of this year’s campaign I think we are within shouting distance 500K 😮. This is so AMAZING!!! 2025 really needed some good news and this has been really really good news!

Agreed! The last few years have been rough. My dog and father passed away a couple months apart last year. And then..well. Living in US. Having found the #uglydogs community and #igivarod has been a thing of hope in dark times.

So, here we are in 2021, still in a pandemic. But there is light at the end of the tunnel (we hope) and the #Igivarod is back. The organizers have once again partnered with Donors Choose to find projects in rural Alaska schools.

Then, in 2020, @QuinceMountain ran his first attempt at the Iditarod and the #Igivarod was in full swing (and, well, also better organized and less chaotic - thank you keeps of the spreadsheets and Igivarod organizers).

By the time she reached Nome, 13 days after starting, the #Igivarod had raised about $120,000. (Also, I just realized I had the year wrong in the very first tweet. It was 2019 - my kingdom for an edit button).

By the time Blair left McGrath to continue her run, the #Igivarod was a living, breathing movement. Over the next 10 days (or so), she made her way to Nome and we kept giving, funding school project after project.

Today would have been the ceremonial start of the Iditarod in downtown Anchorage, but instead we’re going to talk about the #igivarod. Most of you probably know what this is, but bear with me as I give a brief explanation for any who might not know.
