Ithilen doesn't talk about it at all... but he blames himself for his parents deaths. He doesn't accept that as a fifteen year old kid, he couldn't do anything. He froze up when he and his mother were cornered, and listened when his father told him to run, instead of fighting.

If he was disarmed of his bow, and forced into close-combat, he'd switch to his daggers. If *those* were disarmed, that's when his opponent would get the shock (pun intended) of learning that Ithilen is a sorcerer, and knows quite a few lightning, thunder, and radiant spells.

Ithilen may be monogamous, but he doesn't expect or demand the same from his partners. He would take his cue from them. If his partner is fine with it, or handling it themself, then he won't interfere. If his partner is uncomfortable, he'll step in.
